COVID Testing For Essential Workers

New mobile testing stations are being set up across Norfolk and Waveney, for people who are eligible to be tested for coronavirus.

Appointments must be booked via the national portal: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/coronavirus-covid-19-getting-tested

The mobile stations have been offering appointments at locations in Lowestoft, Diss, Thetford, Cromer and Fakenham. We are also looking to expand testing to in the following locations in the near future, Aylsham, Swaffham, Great Yarmouth, Dereham, Downham Market and Hunstanton.

Other testing stations that are bookable via the government’s national site include Copdock near Ipswich, Stansted and Peterborough.

Essential workers such as NHS staff, care home staff and teachers also have the choice to book a test at three other permanent centres in Norfolk (James Paget University Hospital in Gorleston, Centrum Centre near the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital, and at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, King’s Lynn). Appointments for these locations cannot be booked using the national portal, they must be booked using a local system. See below.

All essential workers including care home staff: Ask your employer/line manager to email NorfolkRegistercovidtesting@nnuh.nhs.uk with their name, job title and contact number. The NNUH registration team will contact them to register the organisation so you can then book an appointment. Your employer will be given a unique reference number and the contact details for your triage. Individual employees can then request a test by emailing covidtesting@nnuh.nhs.uk with their name, job title, contact number and quoting the unique reference number given to them by their employers.
